Moderation Policy
How UK Junction reviews listings and enforces our policies.
Purpose
This policy explains how UK Junction moderates content and enforces our Acceptable Use Policy and Trust & Safety Policy, so you know what to expect if your content or account is affected.
What gets moderated
- Listings, before publishing, and again if reported afterwards
- Accounts, where evidence suggests a breach of our policies
How moderation works
We use a combination of automated screening (for known prohibited keywords, categories and patterns) and human review by our moderation team. Automated systems flag content for review; final decisions on anything but the clearest violations involve a person.
Enforcement ladder
We don't always start at step 1, the severity of a breach determines where we start. Immediate action (skipping straight to suspension) is reserved for serious harm, fraud, or illegal content.
Notifying you of a decision
Where practical, we'll explain what was affected and why, so you understand what happened and can avoid it in future. Some detail may be withheld where explaining it would help bad actors evade our systems.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you can appeal it, see our Appeals Policy for how.
Illegal content
Content that appears to be illegal under UK law is prioritised for urgent review and removed where confirmed, consistent with our obligations under the Online Safety Act 2023. See our Trust & Safety Policy for how to report it.
