Selling Safely

1 MIN READ ยท UPDATED 1 AUG 2026

Protect your account, item and payment when selling through UK Junction.

Publish an accurate listing

Use your own current photos and describe condition, faults, location and price honestly. Choose the correct category and do not include secrets, identity documents or unnecessary personal information.

Recognise unsafe approaches

Be cautious when a buyer offers more than requested, sends a payment screenshot instead of cleared funds, asks you to buy gift cards, requests an authentication code or arranges collection by an unknown courier before payment is secure. Treat irreversible transfers, cryptocurrency and requests to refund a different account the same way.

Messages and links

Keep material discussions in UK Junction messages so you retain a clear record. Never share a password or one-time code. Treat shortened links, unexpected attachments, remote-access requests and pressure to move immediately to another platform as warning signs.

Handover and payment

Confirm cleared funds through your own bank or payment provider, not a link sent by the buyer. Meet safely and provide only the documents needed for the transaction. For vehicles and other registered goods, follow the official transfer process.

Keep a record

Retain the listing, material messages, agreed price, receipt and delivery or collection evidence for an appropriate period. Mark unavailable listings promptly so buyers are not misled.

Block further contact where necessary and report suspicious messages, payment instructions or impersonation. Never send UK Junction your password, authentication code or full payment-card details.
